Get free apps – appstore cracked

The  best apps in the appstore usually cost money, but some dudes have made a “work around”.

installousOn your jail broken iPhone with Cydia installed, add the new source: http://cydia.hackulo.us and install the program: installous.

The program from Hackulo.us lets you get access/download/install some cracked apps that it basically gets from the net. A very easy and cool program, but a little slow as the interface is a web page inside the program. Read More »

Transfer music from iPhone to computer for free!

This program lets you transfer all your music from the iPhone to the computer. Its really simple to use… just download and run the .exe file.

Upgrade to 3.0 on iPhone 2G

The iPhone Project har made it super easy, using windows vista:

1. connect your iPhone to the computer

2. let iTunes 8 update the phone to 3.0(take backup if iTunes asks… this will save all your numbers etc.)

3. go to theiphoneproject.org and download the “redsn0w 0.7.2 for Windows (3.0 Jailbreak)” and the iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

4. run the redsnow  program to unlock the phone

Convert video files for iPhone – Handbreak

Handbreak is smood… I used Videora earlier, which was stacked full of adds and web-based crap, this is better. Handbreak is an open source program which is totally free.

The interface is self explaining and easy to use. No adds or donation hazards, it took some time to convert though (about 35 min for a 700MB file, depends on your computer).

Just remember to run the program as administrator ([Vista]right click and select “Run as administer”).

Remote desktop with the iPhone

The free service offered by logmein.com(log me in) makes it possible to use the iPhone as a remote desktop. Although the speed is not so fast, but if you don’t want to spend money this is one way to do it.

On the computer:

1. Get the free account at logmein.com

2. Download and install LogMeIn

3. When logged in, add the computer you are on to your profile

4. Go into the properties of your new connection and change, under general settings, the option called ‘Default Remote Control’ and set it to HTML(it’s probably set to ActiveX), save

On the iPhone:

1. Log-in to your profile at logmein.com

2. Click my machines

3. Click the remote control icon on the new computer connection

Your in….

If you want to spend some money($29.99) and get inn easier and probably faster, logmein.com has made an app for this….

EDIT: See this post for how to get it for “illegal”! Just install the program “ingnition” in the Installous installer.

iPhone as mouse – Remote control

Nam’s Remote! I wanted to use my iPhone as a mouse for my computer so i checked the Appstore… I installed an application named “Nam’s remote free”.  It installed easily after entering my Appstore username and password. And the server(the program that needs to run on your computer) just… worked.

Steps(NB: it runs over WiFi):

1. install Nam’s Remote Free from the appstore

2. go to nambrot.com and download the server

3. extract the files and run the “.exe” file

4. start the program on your iPhone and enter the ip and code that is on your servers first tab

There you go! Very easy! Check out this clip from uTube.

Creating webpages for iPhone(with iPhone looks)

Earlier post about webpages that look like iPhone apps links to a page that lets you download a framework for building iPhone look-a-like-webpages, but now I have discovered a better and easier way to set up the framework with a few clicks.

Short: you need eclipse with Aptana plugin, and Aptana needs to have the Aptana Apple iPhone Development platform installed.

OR JUST DOWNLOAD APTANA at http://www.aptana.com

Where have all the games gone? Get them this way!

After upgrading from 1.1.4 to 2.x.x the installer does not have as many games and applications as the old one…. this is much likely because the App Store is where they all “hang” these days.

To get the App Store you must have software version 2++.  When this is done the App Store icon will show on the spring board.

Getting an App Store account will be the second step to get all the “new free” games/gadgets.

There are two ways to get the apps on your iPhone: through iTunes or the App Store button on the spring board.

The fastest way is through iTunes. Just browse the free apps and click “get app”. It automatically then starts to download, and you can later add the apps to the phone as you would sync the images, videos or music.
